Entrevista a docente
Buenas tardes, cordial saludo:
Teacher interview: Good afternoon, cordial greeting: My name is Robert Arciniegas I am a student of the degree in mathematics of the open and distance university UNAD. The reason for this interview is to provide information about a civilization such as the Sumerians and their importance in the development of mathematics. What's your name? My name is Doris Esther Patiño. Where Job: In the educational institution Santa Ana municipality of Imues. What is your position: I am a teacher of this institution.
What can you tell us about the civilization known as the Sumerians? It is a very old civilization of more than 4000 years old before Christ, we can say that the prehistory of mathematics ends here and history begins, since the contributions that this civilization made to humanity such as the cuneiform system is of great relevance of numbering, the positional numeration that is to say had conception of the circle of 360 degrees, the contribution of the sexagesimal system that is to say the multiples of 60 that nowadays we use it to know the hour or the years that are composed of twelve months; in the same way as their society was growing more and more they were in the need to implement arithmetic through the use of counters to count. Remember that mathematics would not have been possible without the need of man to understand his environment in a constant development of the use of his intellect, logic and reasoning. Thank you very much teacher for your time.
